FIFA has accused Socceroos fans of singing a homophobic chant at the World Cup

FIFA has issued Football Federation Australia (FFA) with a warning after four Socceroos fans were allegedly caught singing a homophobic chant at the World Cup.

The alleged incident occurred during the Australia-France World Cup match in Russia.

According to the , the international football organisation’s disciplinary committee sent a warning to Australia related to “a very small group of fans”.

The FFA says it has not received the statement but said it does not condone homophobia or any antisocial behaviour.

It has ed FIFA regarding the warning.

It comes after the Mexican football association was fined US$10,000 by FIFA after a large number of fans were caught for the same offence.
